FARM PLANNING, MANAGEMENT, RECORD-KEEPING
-
Market Farm Forms ($59), created by Marcie Rosenzweig, contains computer spreadsheet templates for planning and organizing information on diversified market farms. This software program will help you in planning crops and budgets, order seed and soil amendments, grow transplants, project yields and income, and then track what really happens against your projections. http://www.back40books.com/?sc=store
-
More farm-planning and recordkeeping worksheets were created by a graduate student at North Carolina State University. These are similar to the Market Farm Forms, but are free. These sheets are meant to be adapted to fit your own operation, as you may have different growing conditions and different planting times, yields, number of CSA shares, etc. http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/chatham/ag/SustAg/farmrecords.html
-
FarmNotebook is an on-line organizer designed for market and CSA farms, but it can also be used by gardeners large and small. Whether you sell at four markets a week or just have a backyard garden, FarmNotebook will help you keep track of what you’ve got growing. http://farmnotebook.com/
